Your flat chest is a common complaint in the world of fitness.
According to a new study, it can also cause you to look worse than you actually do.
“We’re now looking at flat chest syndrome as the most common disorder in people who train in the gym,” says Daniela Perna, a professor of psychology at the University of Colorado.
“That’s the one that we know about most.”
The researchers looked at data from over 1,000 men and women who were surveyed in the United States.
They were asked to complete three questions about their body type.
The first asked whether they were “very flat” or “very wide,” and the second asked whether the person was “very fat,” or “somewhat fat.”
They also answered a question about how much weight they were carrying at the time.
The final question was “How often do you feel like you are too big?”
They were then asked how often they felt that way in their life.
Pernas team found that flat chest was more prevalent in women than in men, and the women with the syndrome had a bigger flat chest than the men.
“If you’re overweight and you feel flat chest in your life, that’s probably not healthy for you,” Pernanas team said in a statement.
“Women and women with flat chest are more likely to be overweight and have more medical problems.
This is a problem for the future.”
In a second study, researchers found that those with flat chests were also more likely than other groups to have lower self-esteem, lower self esteem and higher rates of anxiety.
“Our study is not saying that women with a flat chest have an inflated sense of self-worth,” Parnas team concluded.
“However, this is one area where the data suggest that there is a strong association between body type and a person’s mental health.”
The authors concluded that flat-chested women might be less likely to report mental health problems.
Parnasa said it was important for fitness companies to understand what they could do to help their female clients.
“The best way to help flat chest women is to get more women into the gym to get better,” she said.
The study was published in the journal PLOS ONE. “
So that’s what we’re working on now, to encourage women to take on a more athletic and active lifestyle.”
